If you started at the University of Southampton as an undergraduate since 2006 then you could be entitled to a bursary. Thousands of pounds have been unclaimed this year and its up to you to find out if you are missing out. To qualify you need to:

  • be a current University of Southampton undergraduate
  • have a household income of less than £32,000 per year
  • have opted for Means-Tested Funding (if you are not sure about if you have opted for means tested please contact the Student Finance Loans company on 0845 607 7577)
  • not be in receipt of NHS bursaries

One thing every student has in common is the issue of money. Whether it’s spending too much, wishing for more or trying to live on a budget, money is the one thing that binds us all. Mind the Gap is here to help! It is designed to help you mind that potential gap between the money you have coming in and the money you are spending.

Mind the Gap is brand new and designed to help you overcome your money worries, one of the main concerns for students! Take a look around the site to find out more about student finance and money to which you could be entitled. Did you know all students are entitled to at least some student loan? You may well be missing out on money to which you’re entitled, including some that is non-repayable – that’s free money!

As well as this information there are money saving tips, news items and questions and answers that are ever changing so check back frequently to save yourself some cash! So take a look around, make sure you’re getting all you’re entitled to, get some ideas on how to save or ask a question. But first things first – have you made a budget?
