Special circumstances
Much of the information given is for those fresh faced students straight from college with no other commitments. In reality, there is a wide and fantastically varied group of students at university who have special and differing circumstances. There could be extra support available for you!
If you fit into one of the categories below, you could benefit from a review from the Students’ Union Advice and Information Centre (SUAIC):
- Lone parents
- Student couples with dependants
- Students with disabilities
- Students who claim or have claimed benefits
- Students who have previously studied in higher education and who feel that their current funding might be incorrect or unfair
- Students facing problems or a crisis
- International students experiencing an unexpected change in circumstances
By contacting SUAIC you could find out if you should be getting more money and can gain advice on the best way to get through your university years!
